Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is seeking a Generator Mechanic/Service Technician to travel to customer residences and perform repair work and preventative maintenance on whole-home standby generators.

You will read manuals, electrical diagrams, and blueprints, and update the service system with job details while applying safety practices. The role requires solid mechanical/electrical knowledge, customer-facing communication, and the ability to work Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm, with schedule changes as

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently demonstrating initiative.
• Reading and comprehension skills to understand technical manuals, electrical wiring diagrams, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Technicians will be provided with a daily workload of service/maintenance calls to perform on the Generac generators.
• Using company vehicle responsibly – travel to/from customer’s residence.
• Communicate directly with customers regarding arrival, work being performed, issues resolved, etc.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on the customer’s home generator.
• Follow technical instruction manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and procedures.
• Test, troubleshoot, and operate automatic transfer switches.
• Document services that are performed using an electronic software system.
• Adhere to all safety practices and requirements.
• Fill out all paperwork and document maintenance work that was completed.
• Qualified technicians will perform diagnostics and repairs on backup power systems.
