Job summary

Cox Fleet seeks a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. The role involves diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on trucks and trailers, managing parts and documentation, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Ideal candidates have HS diploma/GED with experience or ASE certifications, and a valid driver’s license. The position offers on-site work with company-provided tools and growth opportunities within Cox

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; 3 years related field experience or 5 years related field
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months
• DOT background screening and DOT physical prior to employment
• DOT medical card with expiry >4 months or DOT physical as fallback
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles
• Perform minor repairs on electrical, brakes, cooling, engines and transmissions
• Diagnose and repair truck and trailer equipment and systems
• Maintain and operate service vehicle and conduct safety checks
• Document work performed and upload RO notes via TRAIT app
• Obtain parts from vendors and communicate repair estimates and PO numbers
