Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light to moderate repairs on trucks and trailers in a mobile setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking and engine systems, manage parts on a company truck, and document work using an iOS device and TRAIT app.

This role requires DOT compliance and strong safety adherence. Work is remote within the specified US region, with 100% travel, and a base hourly pay range reflecting location and experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; related discipline considered.
• DOT/FMCSA compliance with DOT pre-employment screening.
• ASE certification (T8) within 18 months; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and repairs on mobile/field equipment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Manage parts inventory, document repairs on RO, and upload photos.
• Road test vehicles and ensure compliance with safety and DOT regulations.
• Communicate with customers and obtain approvals for estimates and PO numbers.
