Job summary

Cox Fleet, a leading mobile fleet maintenance provider, is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-mid repairs in a field/mobile setting across fleets nationwide. You will diagnose, repair, and test diesel and electrical systems while maintaining high safety and productivity standards.

The role requires a HS diploma/GED, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, DOT compliance, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related field experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
• Must pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, cooling and diesel systems.
• Inspect and test equipment to diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools and instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Coordinate with management and customers for approvals, estimates and RO documentation.
• Maintain service truck and safety checks, and manage parts inventory.
