Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-medium repairs in a field setting. You will work a day shift, Tuesday–Saturday, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical, fuel, and hydraulic systems, performing road tests, maintaining inventory on the service truck, and documenting all findings using the TRAIT app.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years’ related experience (or equivalent).
• Must possess a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• Must pass DOT-related background screening and DOT physical per regulations.
• ASE certification T8 targeted within 18 months; FMCSA/DOT compliance expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck and trailer equipment, including electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Operate and document work using company tools, RO forms, and TRAIT app; communicate estimates and approvals to management.
• Maintain daily schedules, manage parts on a service truck, and comply with safety and environmental policies.
