Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician in the Sacramento area. The role focuses on performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and a range of repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a mobile/field environment.

You will work 10am–6:30pm Tuesday–Saturday, with a $5,000 new hire bonus and 50% paid after 30 days and 50% after 180 days. Regional travel may be required and safety compliance is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; ASE certification preferred or attainable within 18 months.
• Valid DOT/FMCSA regulatory understanding and DOT pre-employment screening may be required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOT medical card and state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, repair and adjust electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on trucks and trailers.
• Inspect and test equipment; conduct road tests to verify repairs; document results on RO via TRAIT app.
• Manage parts on the service truck and coordinate with management for repair approvals.
