Job summary

The Cox Automotive - USA team is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. This role follows a Friday‑Monday schedule (7 AM‑5 PM) with the possibility to work remotely anywhere in the United States and travel as required.

You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems, perform safety checks, upload RO details via the TRAIT iOS app, and coordinate with customers to meet

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical/braking/cooling systems and engine components on diesel trucks.
• Inspect, test and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation after service.
• Independently manage parts inventory and document work performed on Repair Orders using TRAIT app.
• Communicate with customers and management to discuss RO findings, approvals and repair estimates.
