Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Tech II - DOT to service fleets nationwide. The role involves performing licensed DOT inspections, PMs, diagnostics, and repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks in mobile/field settings.

You will work remotely from a service truck, with a 10:00 AM–6:30 PM schedule, Tuesday through Saturday with 100% travel. The position requires ASE T8 certification within 18 months and a valid DOT medical card, plus a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 3 years in related field.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PM on light, medium, heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Inspect and repair trailers, liftgates, air lines, and related equipment.
• Maintain service truck and manage parts inventory.
• Document work and upload RO photos using TRAIT app.
