Job summary

Cox Fleet in California is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-heavy mechanical repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling systems and more, then road-test to verify repairs.

The role requires HS diploma or equivalent, 3 years of related experience (or 5 years alternative), ASE T8 within 18 months, and DOT certifications. Benefits include health, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with 3 years in related field
• Own set of hand tools required
• ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months
• DOT pre-employment background screen and DOT physical
• DOT medical card valid or ability to obtain one
• Must be 21+ with valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting
• Diagnose and repair truck and trailer equipment including electrical, braking, cooling systems, engines, transmissions and hydraulics
• Inspect, test, and road-test vehicles to verify repairs and safety compliance
• Manage parts inventory and operate company vehicle with safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections
• Document work with RO in TRAIT application and obtain approvals on estimates
