Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking experienced Mobile Diesel Technicians to support clients at their locations. You will maintain fleets, perform on-site service calls, diagnose issues with equipment, and ensure timely documentation and safety compliance.

The role emphasizes after-hours availability, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to manage service truck inventories. A CDL is preferred, and manufacturer certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVSS.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and perform daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls with an open work schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle, plan procedures, and perform repairs.
• Use diagnostic equipment to determine malfunctions and execute correct repairs.
• Document all work performed in the company computer system.
• Ensure safety devices and guards are inspected and adjusted as needed.
• Foster positive customer relations and communicate repair recommendations.
