Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our fleet at client locations nationwide. You will conduct on-site service, diagnosis, and repair of heavy-duty trucks, with responsibilities ranging from routine maintenance to complex engine work.

We value tenured technicians, certifications, and a strong safety culture. The role requires flexibility for after-hours calls and travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Specialized certifications (Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, ASE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance and inspections on trucks and equipment.
• Manage inventory on service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and perform daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and flexible schedule.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and components; use diagnostic tools and company systems.
• Document work performed accurately and timely.
• Engage with customers and service writers on recommended repairs and future services.
