Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking Experienced Mobile Diesel Technicians to support client fleets with on-site service across our US network. You will diagnose, repair and maintain diesel engines, handle diagnostic equipment, and keep customers' trucks on the road.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• ASE certifications preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for stocked vehicle.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned duties daily.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and an open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the tools for the work required in maintaining diesel engines.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle to plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and information to perform repairs.
• Diagnose and replace parts such as injectors, bearings, transmissions, etc.
• Document and submit paperwork in the mobile service program.
• Check safety devices and tighten guards.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs meet specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Foster positive customer relations and communicate next steps.
