Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our fleet customers at client locations. The role covers on-site maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across heavy trucks and related equipment with opportunities for professional growth.

The position requires 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician, a high school diploma or GED, and preferred CDL. ASE or OEM certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and documenting inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and observe vehicles to plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
• Conduct repairs such as injectors, pistons, bearings, clutches, transmissions, and related parts.
• Document work performed and enter into the mobile service program.
• Communicate with customers regarding repairs and future services within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply training on the job.
