Job summary

Cox Fleet in Daytona Beach is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems with hands-on tools and discipline, supporting a nationwide fleet network.

The role requires 3 years in related field or 5 years alternative, with ASE T8 achievable within 18 months and DOT regulatory compliance. Growth through hands-on learning and safety-first culture is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years related field experience, or 5 years alternative.
• Must supply a set of hand tools needed for duties.
• Plan to obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical required; 21+ years old; valid license.
• Interstate operation requires valid state driver’s license and DQF.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, repair and adjust electrical, brake, cooling, engine and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify function and identify malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory and document repairs on RO using company TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms timely and maintain safety checks and trip inspections.
