Job summary

Cox Fleet in Tampa, FL seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform PMs, inspections, and repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose and service electrical, brake, cooling, and diesel engines across light to heavy‑duty trucks while road testing to ensure proper operation.

Requirements include a HS diploma or equivalent, 3–5 years’ related experience, ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months, and a valid driver’s license with the ability to pass a DOT background check.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED and 3 years’ related experience, or 5 years’ related field experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA pre‑employment screening and DOT physical requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and repairs on light/medium/heavy trucks in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and related truck systems.
• Road test vehicles and document findings; manage RO uploads via TRAIT app.
• Obtain parts from vendors and communicate with management for approvals.
• Maintain safety and pre/post‑trip inspections on service vehicle.
