Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections and PMs during on-site field visits. You will diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems on light to heavy duties, while maintaining documentation via RO and TRAIT app.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field, or 5 years’ experience.
• Must supply a set of hand tools to perform duties.
• ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical required.
• DOT medical card valid with more than 4 months remaining.
• Candidate must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, transmission, and hydraulic systems.
• Test vehicles, road test after repairs, and ensure proper operation.
• Document work using RO and TRAIT app, upload photos and findings.
• Coordinate with management for approvals and purchase orders; manage parts inventory.
• Maintain service truck and conduct safety inspections; comply with DOT/OSHA regulations.
