Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a field setting. You’ll work independently, manage the service truck’s parts & tools, and upload findings using our TRAIT app.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; 3 years in a related field, or 5 years of related experience.
• Possess hand tools sufficient to perform required duties.
• ASE PMI/PMI-related certification within 18 months; DOT background screening and DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and repairs in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine and drivetrain systems.
• Road test vehicles and document findings via company device and TRAIT app.
• Manage parts inventory on a service truck and coordinate with management.
• Maintain safety checks, and complete DOT forms and other documentation timely.
