Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light to heavy-duty fleet vehicles in field settings. You will work independently with a company-provided service truck and tools, driving to client sites across the service area.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate documentation, and timely communication with management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years in related field; or 5 years in related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 PMI certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA requirements; pass pre-employment DOT screening and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card acceptable if valid; otherwise DOT physical required.
• Must be at least 21 years old; valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to access and operate a company service truck.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and transmission systems on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Test and inspect equipment; road test to verify proper operation.
• Manage parts and inventory for service truck; reconcile periodically.
• Document work in TRAIT app and upload RO photos and findings.
• Complete all required DOT forms accurately and timely.
• Maintain service vehicle and perform pre-/post-trip inspections.
