Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to take their skills on the road, performing DOT inspections, preventative maintenance and diagnostics. You will work in a mobile/field environment, manage a service truck and upload repair orders via TRAIT on an iOS device.

This role offers independent work and a company that invests in your success. You will perform PMs, diagnostics, and repairs on various truck equipment, with a focus on safety and quality, while meeting DOT and OSHA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field; or 5 years' related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 PMI within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations compliance and pre-employment DOT background screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose, repair, and adjust electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using tools and test instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Manage parts inventory on the service truck and upload RO data via TRAIT app.
