Job summary
Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic II to perform DOT inspections, PM inspections, light-to-heavy repairs, and complex diagnostics in a mobile/field setting across Abilene, TX. You will work Tuesday through Saturday, 7am to 5pm, servicing light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
Responsibilities include accurate RO documentation, tools and parts management, and adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related experience or 5 years related field experience.
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
- ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment using test instruments and handheld devices.
- Road test vehicles to confirm proper operation after service.
- Manage parts inventory and document work via company app and RO forms.
