Job summary

Cox Fleet, a Cox Automotive business, is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform inspections, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a fleet of light to heavy-duty vehicles in the field. You will work independently with a company-provided service truck, enjoying strong pay and benefits, including a take-home vehicle.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to DOT regulations, and customer communication while contributing to fleet uptime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience, or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• ASE certification T8 PMI within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA requirements including background screening and physical.
• DOT medical card with >4 months validity or plan forDOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT Inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck; reconcile periodically.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and timely.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and PO numbers.
• Maintain company truck and perform pre/post-trip inspections.
• Provide excellent customer service and safe driving practices.
