Job summary

Cox Fleet By Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting.

The role requires independence with supervision by a Senior Technician, strict adherence to DOT/OSHA policies, and effective documentation using TRAIT on iOS. Weekly pay, uniforms, safety gear, and training support career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent, with 3 years’ related experience.
• Must possess and provide a hand tools set necessary for job duties.
• Aim to obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months of hire.
• Must pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card may be substituted if valid; otherwise DOT physical required.
• Candidate must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on mobile fleets.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine and transmission systems.
• Test and road test vehicles to verify repairs and safety.
• Document findings, RO entries, and parts used using company TRAIT iOS app.
• Source parts from approved vendors and manage service truck inventory.
• Work with clients to assess needs and deliver satisfactory service while complying with safety regulations.
