Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling systems, engines and transmissions, and drive trucks to verify repairs.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, 3–5 years in related field work, and the ability to obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months. A valid CDL/driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; 3–5 years related field experience.
• Able to obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, repair and adjust electrical, braking, cooling, engine, transmission and steering systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document work orders using company TRAIT app on an iOS device.
• Comply with OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations and safety policies.
