Job summary

Cox Fleet, a Cox Automotive company, is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-mid repairs in a mobile/field environment across nationwide service centers. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, tool proficiency, and adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and access to a personal tool set.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with related experience or alternative combinations.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for duties.
• Achieve ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months and DOT-related certifications as required.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment screening and physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, repair, and adjust electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect vehicles and document findings via RO in TRAIT app.
• Manage parts inventory and coordinate with management for approvals.
• Adhere to safety, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations; complete pre/post trip checks.
