Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light to heavy repairs, and diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. You will work with a Sr Technician or higher, learning advanced skills and diagnostics while maintaining a high work pace.

You will comply with DOT rules, OSHA, and EPA, with company-provided tools and a service truck. The role offers strong growth opportunities and a clear career path within Cox Fleet.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years’ related experience, or alternative combo; or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Repair electrical, braking, cooling systems, starters/alternators, and engine components as needed.
• Diagnose and repair various truck equipment and perform road tests to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain and inspect service trucks and equipment; manage inventory and parts.
• Document RO findings via iOS TRAIT app and upload photos of work performed.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on estimates and purchase orders.
