Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform advanced diagnostics and repairs in a mobile/field environment, with supervision from senior technicians. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and customer service across light to heavy-duty trucks.

Expect to travel with a company vehicle, manage parts, complete documentation on iOS TRAIT, and meet DOT/ASE standards while maintaining productivity and high repair quality.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED with related field experience, or equivalent.
• Possess a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Must meet DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect, test, and document findings using RO and TRAIT app.
• Road-test vehicles to verify proper operation after service.
• Manage parts inventory and service truck daily operations.
• Communicate estimates and approvals with management and customers.
