Cox Fleet, part of Cox Automotive, hires a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light repairs on fleet vehicles in a mobile/field setting. The role emphasizes diagnostics, parts handling, and safety compliance across a nationwide operation managed from Cox Fleet’s service network.

The technician operates with supervision for advanced tasks, maintains service logs, and uses TRAIT on an iOS device to document findings.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3 years in a related field or 5 years experience alternative
• ASE T8 PMI certification within 18 months of hire
• DOT/FMCSA compliance and DOT medical card requirements
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be 21+ years old

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PM on light to heavy trucks in mobile/field environment
• Diagnose, repair and adjust electrical, braking, cooling and diesel systems
• Document work orders and upload RO photos using TRAIT on iOS devices
• Maintain safety checks and manage daily schedule and parts inventory
