Cox Automotive’s Cox Fleet division seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance and on-site diagnostics for a range of truck and trailer equipment in a mobile/field role.

You will work independently with a company-provided service vehicle, manage parts and document work, while ensuring safety standards and DOT compliance. The position offers a strong pay structure, benefits and professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' related experience or 5 years' related field experience.
• Possess own hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• ASE certification (T3/T4/T5/T6/T7/T8) within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations and DOT pre-employment screening compliance.
• Valid DOT medical card or ability to obtain one; 21+ years old with interstate authority.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory and use company service truck for job materials.
• Document work with RO, upload photos and notes via TRAIT on iOS device.
