Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II in the United States. This role performs licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to medium/heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting.

You will diagnose electrical, fuel, and mechanical systems, test and road‑test vehicles, manage a parts inventory, and document findings via company tools. Requires HS diploma or GED with relevant experience, ASE T8 within 18 months, and valid DOT qualifications.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3 years related experience or 5 years in related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools needed for duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Must pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine and drivetrain systems.
• Inspect, test and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld tools and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to confirm proper operation after repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain company service truck.
• Complete DOT forms and documentation promptly.
