Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in a mobile/field environment. You’ll diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, manage parts and vehicle readiness, and document work via iOS TRAIT app.

The role emphasizes independent scheduling, adherence to safety policies, and meeting performance metrics across a nationwide fleet service network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience (or 5 years’ related experience).
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT/FMSCA regulatory knowledge and ability to pass DOT pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and drivetrain systems.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain service truck; complete DOT forms.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on estimates and RO notes.
