Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting across our service network. This role requires diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems while maintaining documentation and customer communication.

You will work with a Sr tech to expand skills, operate company vehicles safely, and meet productivity targets in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; 3 years in related field or 5 years experience alternative.
• Possess and supply hand tools required for duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Must have valid driver's license and be able to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, and cooling systems and other components.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, engine, drivetrain, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect and test equipment using handheld devices and pressure gauges; road test vehicles.
• Accurately document findings and RO details using company iOS devices and TRAIT app.
• Manage schedule, parts inventory, and communicate estimates with management.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and applicable regulations.
