Job summary

Cox Automotive in Oklahoma City is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and on-site diagnostics for light to heavy-duty vehicles. You will work in a mobile/field environment with a focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

The role requires 3 years’ related experience or equivalent, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and a valid DOT medical card. We offer weekly pay, benefits, and opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with related field experience or a higher degree/certification.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months is required.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical compliance.
• Valid driver’s license and 21+ years old are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile setting.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Test and road-test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts on the service truck and document work on RO forms using mobile tools.
• Obtain necessary approvals for estimates and purchase orders with management.
• Maintain safety checks, pre-/post-trip inspections, and drive in compliance with DOT/OSHA rules.
• Communicate effectively with customers to assess needs and resolve issues.
• Source parts from approved vendors and reconcile inventory regularly.
• Work with independence, prioritize tasks, and meet productivity targets.
