Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and light to medium/heavy-duty repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems, road-test vehicles, and maintain service trucks and documentation using TRAIT on an iOS device.

You should have a HS diploma or GED, 3 years in related field (or 5 years), ASE T8 within 18 months, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with 3 years in related field or 5 years in related field.
• Must supply hand tools necessary to perform duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• 21+ years old with valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Carry out minor and some major repairs involving electrical, braking, cooling, engines, transmissions, and related systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems using diagnostic tools and hand tools.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using instruments.
• Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and performance.
• Manage parts inventory on a service truck and document work done via iOS/TRAIT.
