Job summary

Cox Fleet in Oakland seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling systems and drive tests to confirm proper operation.

The role emphasizes safety, independent scheduling, and documentation of work orders using our TRAIT app, with a focus on meeting high performance metrics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination with related experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months and DOT-related compliance.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet DOT pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and repairs on mobile/field vehicles.
• Diagnose electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems with tools and instruments.
• Road test vehicles and document findings in RO using company app.
• Manage parts inventory and coordinate with management for approvals.
