Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light to medium/heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems and road test to ensure proper operation.

The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent, 3–5 years in related field, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and a valid DOT card.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; 3 years in related field, or 5 years in related field.
• Must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months of hire.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations apply; DOT medical card or exam required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on trucks.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools.
• Road test vehicles and document findings; upload RO notes via TRAIT app.
• Manage parts inventory on service truck and coordinate with supervisors for approvals.
