Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs in a mobile/field setting across light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You will work under supervision of a Sr technician and continue to develop advanced diagnostic skills while meeting safety and performance metrics.

You will manage parts, document findings on RO with photos using TRAIT app, complete DOT forms and maintain the service truck and tools.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' related field experience, or 5 years' related experience.
Own a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
Ase T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
Must pass a DOT-regulated background screening and DOT physical before employment.
DOT medical card acceptable if valid beyond four months; otherwise DOT physical required.
You must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Perform PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, engine, transmission and hydraulic systems.
Diagnose and repair electrical, fuel, drivetrain, and engine systems on various trucks.
Inspect, test and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using hand tools and test instruments.
Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
Document findings and parts used on Repair Orders via TRAIT app with photos.
Complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly and accurately.
Independently manage daily schedule and parts inventory for service trucks.
Communicate with management to obtain approvals on repair estimates and RO notes.
