Job summary

Cox is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting. The role requires independent work, parts inventory management, and accurate repair documentation.

You will use handheld tools and iOS TRAIT app to complete work orders, follow safety rules, and communicate with customers to assess needs and resolve issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years related experience (or a higher degree with 5 years).
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Must have at least 21 years of age and a valid driver’s license; hold a valid State Driver Qualification File.
• Valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining can be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical; otherwise a DOT physical is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair truck equipment using test instruments and road tests.
• Manage parts inventory and document repairs on Repair Orders using an iOS device.
• Complete DOT and other forms promptly; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Provide excellent customer service and prioritize tasks independently.
