Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, PM inspections, and light to moderate repairs in a mobile/field environment. The role requires hands-on diagnostics, adherence to safety standards, and strong communication with clients.

The technician maintains a company service truck, uses hand tools and Diesel tools, and completes documentation via the TRAIT app.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with 3 years related field experience (or higher degree/certification).
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT background screening and DOT physical per FMCSA requirements.
• DOT medical card with >4 months remaining or DOT physical if <=4 months remaining.
• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on light, medium, and heavy trucks in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, repair, and test electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and components.
• Inspect and road-test vehicles to verify repairs and function.
• Maintain service truck and inventory; log repairs using TRAIT app and RO documentation.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and parts/purchase orders.
