Job summary

Cox Fleet, a national leader in on-site fleet maintenance, is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician I. This role performs DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile environment, supporting a wide range of trucks and trailers.

You will work under supervision, learn advanced skills, and help ensure uptime for our customers. Responsibilities include conducting safety checks, maintaining the service truck, and documenting repairs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years’ experience in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• Participate in and complete all-in company required training.
• This position follows regulations issued by the DOT/FMCSA; pre-employment screening and DOT physical required.
• A current valid DOT medical card with remaining validity may substitute for a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Manage parts inventory and use company-issued service truck and tools.
• Maintain and inspect the service vehicle and complete safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with customers to assess needs and provide updates on estimates and RO findings.
• Complete DOT forms and documentation in a timely manner.
