Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to medium repairs in a mobile field setting. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, experience with diesel systems, and adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations.

The technician will manage parts on a service truck, document work with company tools, and coordinate with customers to meet repairs efficiently. A valid DOT card and state license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years related field experience, or alternative combinations with 3–7 years in related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• DOT regulations and safety training are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling and engine systems on trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using hand tools and diagnostic devices.
• Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Obtain parts from approved vendors and document all work using the TRAIT app.
