Job summary

Cox Automotive's Cox Fleet division is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs in a field/mobile setting. You will work with a company-provided service vehicle and may take the vehicle home.

A $3000 new hire bonus is offered with staged payouts. Roles include diagnosing and repairing heavy- and light-duty trucks, maintaining equipment, and documenting work via TRAIT on an iOS device.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years' related field experience, or 5 years' related field experience.
• Must possess a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• ASE certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine electronics, and other truck systems.
• Inspect, test and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld instruments and pressure gauges.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory on company-issued service truck and reconcile periodically.
• Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle and conduct pre-/post-trip safety checks.
• Communicate with clients to assess needs and provide information or assistance.
• Document work performed and parts used on Repair Orders using TRAIT application.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion.
