Job summary

Cox Fleet, a Cox Automotive business, seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a mobile/field basis. You’ll work independently, using a company vehicle and TRAIT/Ios for documentation.

Role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer communication; you will receive a new hire bonus and benefits, with flexible shifts (Wednesday-Sunday or 2pm-10pm).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years in related field, or 5 years in related field.
• Must possess hand tools to perform duties.
• ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card acceptable if nearing expiration; otherwise DOT physical required.
• 21+ years old; valid driver’s license and state residency.
• Candidates must be able to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT Inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile field environment.
• Diagnose, repair and adjust electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect, test, and road test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and service truck gear; complete RO documentation on iOS/TRAIT.
• Communicate with customers and management; obtain approvals and PO numbers.
