Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform PMs, DOT inspections, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You’ll diagnose electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems, manage parts and service truck operations, and document findings using an iOS device and the TRAIT app.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years in a related field (or 5 years with a related background), and DOT/FMCSA compliance knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months preferred.
• 3 years of related field experience or 5 years in related field acceptable alternative.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations and DOT physical/background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and DOT inspections on light–heavy vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect, test, and road-test vehicles to verify repairs and functionality.
• Manage parts inventory and service truck operations; obtain approvals for repairs.
• Document work on Repair Orders via iOS device and TRAIT app; complete DOT forms promptly.
