Job summary

Cox Fleet in Lafayette, LA is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and field repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You will work from a company service truck, using TRAIT app to document RO data and photos.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Own a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
• This role follows DOT/FMCSA regulations and requires a pre-employment DOT background check and DOT physical.
• Candidate must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to operate interstate.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, test, and document findings; upload RO data and photos using TRAIT app.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and functionality after service.
• Manage parts via local/national vendors and coordinate with management for approvals.
