Job summary

Fleet Services By Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and various repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical systems, road-test vehicles, and manage parts on a service truck while following safety policies.

ASE T8 certification within 18 months is preferred. Work includes coordinating with management for repair estimates and maintaining vehicle documentation via company tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related field experience; other combinations possible.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months, or equivalent.
• DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
• Test, inspect and road-test vehicles to verify proper operation.
• Maintain inventory and manage parts on the service truck; document RO details via iOS TRAIT app.
• Coordinate with management for repair estimates and approvals; ensure safety compliance.
