Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs in a mobile/field environment. This on-site role travels 100% to customer sites, providing service for light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

The technician will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems, document work order findings, and manage parts on the company truck. OSHA/DOT compliance is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; 3 years in related field or 5 years alternative
• Own a set of hand tools required
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment screening & DOT medical card required
• Valid driver’s license; must be able to work interstate (21+)

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and DOT inspections on light to heavy vehicles in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical/braking/cooling/engine/transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles and document findings using TRAIT app and RO forms.
• Manage parts inventory and obtain from vendors for repairs.
• Comply with safety, OSHA, EPA, and DOT policies and maintain vehicle/truck readiness.
