Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II (DOT) to perform inspections and preventative maintenance on mobile fleets across the U.S. The role supports CoxFleet’s on-site service model, with extensive travel and remote-work flexibility within defined regions.

The technician will diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems, manage parts on the service truck, and document findings using TRAIT on an iOS device.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years in related field or 5 years in related field.
• Own set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• OBTAIN ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months of hire.
• DOT/FMCSA-regulated pre-employment background and DOT physical.
• Must be 21+ and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PM on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical/braking/cooling systems, engines, transmissions, and other truck components.
• Document work and parts used in Repair Orders via TRAIT on company iOS device.
• Maintain service truck and manage parts inventory; obtain approvals for repairs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT and company safety policies.
