Cox Automotive in the United States is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II - DOT to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy and light fleet vehicles. You will drive a company vehicle, conduct safety checks and document work using handheld devices.

The role requires 3+ years in related work, DOT compliance, ASE readiness and a valid driver's license. Travel is extensive; a flexible, on-the-road schedule is expected with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 3 years related experience or higher with one year related work experience; or 5 years experience without a degree.
• Must provide personal set of hand tools to perform job duties.
• Able to obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months of employment.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required prior to employment.
• Valid state driver license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsabilités

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, engines and transmissions.
• Use tools and diagnostic equipment to inspect and test vehicle systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and safety.
• Manage parts and inventory for service truck and telematics unit.
• Complete DOT forms and service documentation accurately.
• Obtain parts from vendors and discuss repair orders with management.
• Follow safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA and DOT standards.
• Prioritize tasks and manage multiple duties within procedures.
• Maintain productivity and operate within standard repair times.
