Job summary

Cox Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is expanding its mobile diesel technician team. The Mobile Diesel Technician II conducts DOT inspections, PMs, and essential repairs at customer sites, servicing light to heavy-duty trucks.

The role emphasizes safety, diagnostics, and high-quality field service with independent scheduling. Expect 100% travel with the option to work remotely where allowed, and potential eligibility for incentive programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related field experience or 5 years in related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT background screening and DOT physical per FMCSA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling systems, and related components.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment using handheld devices and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and company service truck operations; document RO in TRAIT app.
