Cox Automotive’s Cox Fleet unit is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a mobile/field fleet. You’ll work independently on a company-provided service truck and have the opportunity to take the vehicle home daily.

The role emphasizes strong diagnostics, safety, and customer communication, with duties across light to heavy-duty vehicles and a schedule of Wednesday–Sunday or 2:00 pm–10:00 pm.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with related field experience; or 5 years related field experience.
• Own a set of hand tools necessary for required duties.
• ASE T8 PMI certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical
• DOT medical card valid or valid within 4 months of expiration
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsabilités

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair truck equipment including electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld tools and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs.
• Maintain and manage parts inventory on company service truck and reconcile as needed.
• Document work and upload RO details via iOS device and TRAIT app.
